Our European democracies are under threat. 

We are urgently calling for a Committee of Inquiry so that the European Parliament can shed light on American interference and the political complicity that is causing the regression of our laws and the rise of the far right in the EU! 

These are grave times.

The White House is carefully orchestrating the rise of the European far right and the demolition of the laws that protect our health, our economy, our ecosystems and the climate.

But instead of fighting against the deregulation sought by both Donald Trump and the fossil fuel lobbies accelerating the climate catastrophe, the European right wing has been secretly working on behalf of those who want to destroy us!

Our investigation into the European conservative right has shown that right-wing MEPs (from the EPP group) have been acting as channels for American interference in European institutions in order to crush our laws.

On 13 November 2025, in an unprecedented alliance with the far right in the European Parliament, the right wing handed Donald Trump his first victory. This came in the form of the demolition of a pillar of the Green Deal, the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, which is the only text that forced multinationals to account for their human and environmental damage in court. 

Donald Trump wanted the most climate-damaging companies to regain their impunity and privileges: the European right wing granted him this wish.  

He wanted to “help Europe correct its current trajectory” in order to impose regime change and abolish democracies and the rule of law: the right wing obeyed and joined forces with the European far right.  

We are witnessing a dystopian turn of events: the right wing has betrayed the higher interests of the European Union. By breaking the cordon sanitaire and forming alliances with neo-Nazi, fascist, racist and supremacist parties, the right wing is jeopardising European sovereignty and peace on our Old Continent.  

Our democracies and our future are in danger, but there is still time to take action!

All it takes is a quarter of the Members of the European Parliament (180 out of 720 in total) to call for a Committee of Inquiry into foreign interference in European institutions, in order for it to be established.

The integrity of the European Union and our democracies is at stake. We are counting on you to sign this petition and share it as widely as possible. 

We will submit it to the leaders and members of the four European political groups ranging from the liberal right to the left (Renew, the Greens, the European Socialists and the Left).
